Michael D. Hogue, Pharm.D.

Michael D. Hogue, Pharm.D., is an assistant professor of pharmacy practice with the McWhorter School of Pharmacy at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Hogue also practices as an ambulatory care and public health specialist with the Jefferson County (Alabama) Department of Health. He has practice experience in managed care, community chain and independent pharmacy, and home infusion. He completed an executive management residency with the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) in Washington, D.C. Dr. Hogue is the author of numerous articles and book chapters, and is the author or editor of three books, including The Pharmacists Guide to Compensation for Patient Care Services, published by APhA. Recently he served on the national profession-wide consensus working group tasked with creating a professional definition for Medication Therapy Management Services. Dr. Hogue resides with his wife Heather, a pharmacist, and daughters Olivia and Anne Elise in Hoover, Ala.
