Interdisciplinary Team Training in Geriatrics: An Essential Component of Quality Healthcare for Older Adults - The Partnership for Health in Aging (PHA) identified the development of a set of core competencies in the care of older adults that are relevant to and can be endorsed by all health professional disciplines. The PHA focused next on the development of a Position Statement, which is linked above, on Interdisciplinary Team Training in Geriatrics as an essential component of quality healthcare for older adults.
AACP joined five other national health professions associations and three private foundations to announce new competencies for interprofessional education in the health professions, as well as action strategies to implement them in institutions across the country. This press kit, which includes a fact sheet, speaker bios and examples of interprofessional education, was distributed to the media at a press conference held on May 10, 2011 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
