Each member of AACP has the responsibility to help move AACP’s policy agenda. Advocacy is an active endeavor and involves a number of activities. Some of the actions in which an active AACP member can engage are listed on this page.

AACP members participate in direct grassroots advocacy through the Legislative Action Center. Advocacy, like education, requires some demonstration of the activities that you seek support of through attending a meeting with your member of Congress in one of two ways: 

1. Meeting with your member of Congress at his or her Washington, D.C. or local office; or
2. Inviting your member of Congress to visit your institution or educational site.

Consider scheduling a Congressional Visit for yourself or on your campus this year.
