AFPE Scholarships and Fellowships 

AFPE Pharm.D. and Undergraduate Students - The 2009-2010 AFPE Gateway Research Scholarships program is January 23, 2009. A faculty-mentored research program for professional or baccalaureate degree student pharmacists, as well as undergraduates in other science disciplines. The purpose is to attract the most talented students to graduate study in the pharmaceutical sciences by offering a rewarding undergraduate research experience. Up to fifteen (15) awards at $5,000 each are typically granted each academic year . The links to AFPE's Web site detailing the program along with links to application forms are provided.

AFPE First Year Graduate Scholarships - The deadline for the 2009-2010 Kappa Epsilon-Pfizer-AFPE-Nellie Wakeman; Phi Lambda Sigma-GlaxoSmithKline-AFPE; and Rho Chi-Shering Plough-AFPE first year scholarship programs is February 2, 2009.  Outstanding pharmacy school graduates who are members of Kappa Epsilon, Phi Lambda Sigma and Rho Chi are encouraged to continue their advanced education in graduate school in the pharmaceutical sciences to gain advanced degrees (Ph.D.) of value to the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacy. An applicant must be in the final year of a pharmacy college Pharm.D. program or have completed a pharmacy degree. Consideration is given to those who need financial assistance to further their education in pharmacy. At the time of application, the Kappa Epsilon member must be in financial good standing with the Fraternity and planning to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree, a Masters degree, or a combined Residency/Masters degree program at a U.S. College or School of Pharmacy. Applicants may apply annually and receive up to three years of financial support. The links to AFPE's Web site detailing the program and application forms are provided.

AFPE Clinical Pharmacy Post-Pharm.D. Fellowships in the Biomedical Research Sciences - The deadline for the 2009-2010 AFPE clinical pharmacy fellowship program is February 12, 2009. Outstanding Pharm.D. graduates who have completed one or more post-doctoral residencies or fellowships can receive up to 2 years of support to obtain advanced education and training in relevant areas of the biomedical and related basic sciences in order to become competent clinical scientists.

AFPE Predoctoral Graduate Fellowships in the Pharmaceutical Sciences - The deadline for the 2009-2010 AFPE predoctoral graduate fellowship program is March 2, 2009. Outstanding advanced Ph.D. candidates receive up to three years of support for the Ph.D. degree in the pharmaceutical sciences at a U.S. school or college of pharmacy. Graduates move into professional positions in the pharmaceutical industry and into academic positions to train tomorrow's pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists.
