The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy invites applications for the position of Editor of the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. The successful candidate will become the seventh editor of the Journal that began publication in 1937. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and experience in writing for professional or scientific publications and journal reviewing/editing. Familiarity with the intricacies of journal management including journal staff supervision are also desirable. Additionally, an interest in interactive electronic publishing is necessary. Applicants should have a professional or graduate degree in pharmacy or knowledge of a related field. Research and teaching experience are highly desirable as well as track record of professional service. An academic pharmacy appointment is also desirable.
The Editor reports to the Executive Vice President of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and is responsible for the publication of the Journal. Inherent in this responsibility is maintaining a scholarly publication and chronicling the writings of pharmacy educators, association committee reports, and minutes of business meetings in the Journal. The Editor makes final decisions regarding content of the Journal and retains a knowledgeable editorial advisory board and associate editors.
