Presenters:

Natalie A. DiPietro, Pharm.D., MPH
Ohio Northern University, College of Pharmacy

Natalie A. DiPietro earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University and a Master of Public Health degree (Epidemiology concentration) from Indiana University-Indianapolis. She has also completed the Visiting Scientist Fellowship Program at Eli Lilly and Company in the Lilly Centre for Women's Health. The fellowship focused on clinical drug development, with an emphasis in women’s health issues and diseases that disproportionately or differentially affect women. Currently, Dr. DiPietro is an assistant professor of pharmacy practice at Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy. Course responsibilities include teaching in the areas of public health, epidemiology, global health, women’s health, pharmacy administration, and pharmacy professionalism. Research interests include the role of the pharmacist in public health; women’s health; and maternal and child health. Prior to coming to Ohio Northern University, Dr. DiPietro was employed by Eli Lilly and Company for 6 years. In addition to the Visiting Scientist Fellowship Program, she worked in the areas of clinical drug development and drug safety (pharmacoviligance/pharmacoepidemiology). She has taught as an adjunct assistant professor at Indiana University-Indianapolis and Butler University. Dr. DiPietro is active in several professional and volunteer organizations, and in 2011 was named the Ohio Young Public Health Professional of the Year by the Ohio Public Health Association.

Michelle M. Lamb is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy: Clinical and Administrative Sciences – Tulsa at the University of Oklahoma College Of Pharmacy.  Her clinical practice area is Ambulatory Care.   Dr. Lamb joined OU as a Clinical Assistant Professor in July 2009.  She earned her B.S. degree in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in December 1998.  After working as a mechanical engineer with Motorola, she received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma in May 2008.  In addition, Dr. Lamb completed a post-graduate residency in Community Pharmacy with USA Drug and the University of Oklahoma with an emphasis on Diabetes and Preventive Cardiology.  Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), and the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU).  Her practice sites is Community Health Connection, a federally qualified health center (FQHC) that provides culturally competent care for much of the Tulsa Hispanic community.    Her practice areas include cardiovascular risk reduction and her research interests include barriers to healthcare and utilization of iPhone applications by health care professionals.  She serves as preceptor for the Community Outreach Rotation in the PGY2 Ambulatory Care pharmacy residency program and teaches Cultural Competency, Obesity, Men’s and Women’s Health, and various other topics to college of pharmacy students. 

 

Kelly Murray, PharmD, BCACP
Clinical Assistant Professor
University of Oklahoma, College of Pharmacy

Dr. Kelly Murray, PharmD, BCACP graduated from the OU College of Pharmacy in 2007.  She then went on to complete a PGY1 Community Pharmacy Practice residency with USA Drug in Tulsa, OK.  After successful completion of the program, she accepted a position with USA Drug and OU College of Pharmacy where she eventually transitioned into her current positions as Clinical Services Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor, respectively.  She recently received her board certification in ambulatory care practice.  Her clinical interests include dyslipidemia, cardiovascular health, diabetes, HIV, and transitions of care and her research interests are in migraine, health literacy, medication compliance, patient assistance, and the community pharmacist’s role in disease state management.  She focuses her teaching efforts in the Clinical Communications course as well as the Advanced Diabetes Care Elective as well as advanced pharmacy practice experience to fourth year pharmacy students.  She is also currently the Residency Program Director for the USA Drug/OU College of Pharmacy PGY1 Community Pharmacy program.

Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical and Administrative Sciences (DCAS) and serves as the Educational Coordinator in Health Disparities, Cultural Competence and Diversity in the Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research and Education at Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy. Her work has been presented in national and recognized conferences such as the 2011 AACP Institute; the DiversityRX Seventh National Conference; the American Public Health Association 137th Annual Meeting; the 2007 NIH/NCI Minority Institution/Cancer Center Partnership Workshop; and the 2011 American Medical Association Commission to End Health Care Disparities (CEHCD). She also delivers faculty and preceptors development workshops at the national level and is one of the recipients of the 2011 AACP Rufus A. Lyman Award to the best paper published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. Currently, Dr. Echeverri is the Chair of the Xavier College of Pharmacy Diversity Committee and the Chair and Funder of the Special Interest Group (SIG) in Health Disparities and Cultural Competence in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).

    Presenter:  Dr. Ahmed Abdelmageed, Pharm.D.

    Dr. Ahmed Abdelmageed joined Manchester University College of Pharmacy in November 2011 as Associate Director of Experiential Education and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. He is responsible for the administration of the College’s Experiential Education program with special focus on relative areas of curricular development and instruction; program administration; preceptor and site development and recruitment; and assessment and quality assurance. In addition, he teaches within the department of pharmacy practice. Dr. Abdelmageed earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Ferris State University College of Pharmacy and most recently was founding director of experiential education at Husson University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Abdelmageed is a member of the Dean’s Management Council.
