At the 2017 AACP Holistic Admissions Institute, teams of 3-5 including CEO deans, associate deans, directors of admissions, admissions committee chairs and members will discuss holistic review in pharmacy admissions and assessment of admissions practices. Teams will gain insight from other health professions with well-established holistic review practices, as well as insight from accreditors on assessment of admissions practices. These discussions will enable teams to formulate action plans for 1) conducting a formal review of current admissions practices, 2) implementing admissions practice changes that are more holistic in nature, and 3) implementing improved admissions assessment plans.
The Holistic Admissions Institute begins at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23. The Holistic Admissions Institute concludes on Wednesday, January 25.
Holistic Admissions Institute registration will open on Tuesday, November 29, and close on Thursday, December 15, or when all spaces are filled. Space is limited and onsite registration will not be permitted.
Registration for the Holistic Admissions Institute will cost $1,195 per person for AACP institutional members and $1,395 per person for non-institutional members. This package fee for each registrant includes accommodations for three nights (these are single-occupancy rooms), onsite breakfasts, lunches Monday and Tuesday, refreshment breaks, and a welcome reception. Please note: dinner each night is on-your-own. Restaurant suggestions will be provided.
All sessions will be held at Hyatt Regency Dulles, 4.5 miles from Dulles International Airport. The hotel address is 2300 Dulles Corner Blvd., Herndon, VA 20171.
The Holistic Admissions Institute’s meetings staff will make the hotel reservations for you and your team members. Each team member will get their own guest room. Due to the fact that each guest room is single-occupancy, we are unable to accommodate guests during this meeting. Hotel confirmation numbers will be sent to attendees in early September.
For those who check in early on Sunday, January 22, lunch when you arrive and dinner throughout your stay is on-your-own and not included in your registration. Your registration package includes continental breakfasts, lunches Monday and Tuesday and refreshment breaks during the meeting beginning on Monday, January 23. You will need your name badge for hotel staff to identify that you’re with the AACP group.
Elements on Level One is available onsite for networking and team-building opportunities. Please note, however, that this is not included in your registration.
Registration for the Holistic Admissions Institute is on a first-come, first-served basis. When we have reached the maximum number of attendees, teams will be “wait-listed.” Credit card is the only form of payment accepted. AACP accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
If a team member needs to be added, removed or replaced, contact Karli Clark, Meetings Coordinator, at 703-739-2330 ext. 1007 by Thursday, December 15. Any team member addition or removal must adhere to the three-person team minimum and five-person team maximum requirement. Changes will not be permitted after December 15.
Team registration: A cancellation fee of 15% of the total team registration per school will be applied if the team withdraws from the Institute before Thursday, December 15. No refunds will be given after December 15.
Team member registration: If a team member needs to be removed, a full refund will be made if the minimum requirement of a three-person team is still met. The team member must be removed before December 15. If the removal of the team member affects the minimum requirement, the team will be canceled and the team registration cancellation policy above will apply. No refunds will be made for individual team member cancellations after December 15.

The Hyatt Regency Dulles offers a complimentary shuttle service to and from Dulles Airport and Reston Town Center. The airport shuttle departs from the hotel every half hour from 4:15 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. The shuttle departs from the airport every half hour beginning at 4:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. The complimentary shuttle picks up at the lower baggage claim, curbs 2A and 2H at Dulles International Airport.
They Hyatt Regency Dulles is accessible via taxi. Taxis cost about $20 each way.

Attire at the Holistic Admissions Institute is casual. Feel free to dress comfortably in khakis, jeans, polo shirts, and, most importantly, comfortable shoes. Please remember that meeting rooms can get chilly. You may want to bring clothing suitable if your team decides to go out for a nice dinner offsite.
