Outstanding leaders surround themselves with outstanding talent and then work diligently to develop an effective and productive team. Sounds easy, but it requires a purposeful effort to produce results. Whether you are a dean, department chair or project leader, mastering the interpersonal and management skills for teamwork is essential for your school’s success.
The 2012 Interim Meeting, Teams That Work: Effective Group Leadership in Pharmacy Education, welcomes back Karl Haden and colleagues from the Academy for Academic Leadership to continue our focus on development priorities for deans and department chairs. Emotional intelligence, managing up and understanding the legal environment of higher education are featured topics of this program. AACP encourages administrative teams from each college or school to attend for several strategic, active learning sessions aimed at strengthening our collective management and leadership talent pool.
