AACP’s New Recognition for Developing Faculty

The Emerging Teaching Scholar Award seeks to honor faculty who are engaged in and/or supporting scholarly teaching and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Nominees must demonstrate:

  • Evidence of teaching and learning excellence;
  • Proof of efforts that impact the activity of teaching, and resulting learning, in a scholarly fashion; and
  • Excellence and contributions to the scholarship of teaching and learning that are disseminated through pharmacy education literature.

Nominations must be made by completing the online submission form and are due by Friday, Mar. 3, at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Apply Today for the AACP Walmart Scholars Program

Award for Excellence in Assessment: Change in Submissions Requirements

Due to a change in manuscript submission types for AJPE, submissions for the Award for Excellence in Assessment will now follow the format of a research paper including an introduction, methods, results, discussion and conclusions instead of the IDEAS format. No changes have been made to the evaluation criteria or to other requirements for submission. Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts for consideration as a research paper or research brief depending on the nature of the project.

Early-bird registration for the next Interprofessional Faculty Development Institute closes Tuesday, Feb. 28. Faculty across the health disciplines will come together to explore how to embed interprofessional education content into their curriculum, May 3–5, in Washington, D.C. The Master Preceptor Recognition Program recognizes preceptors, who are not full-time employees of a school or college of pharmacy, for their sustained commitment to excellence in experiential education and professional practice. Application materials must be submitted to AACP by Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. ET.

The Council of Sections is now accepting educational and scientific research poster abstracts for Pharmacy Education 2017, July 15–19 in Nashville, Tenn. All abstracts must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST on Feb. 15, 2017. The username and password for the programming submission site is the same as your AACP username and password. You may only submit up to two (2) abstracts for review. Contact Kirsten Block with any questions.




ASOP Global

AACP has partnered with the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies (ASOP Global) and other national non-profit organizations to raise awareness of illegal online drug sellers and counterfeit medications. ASOP Global also launched where providers, patients and caregivers can quickly and easily verify whether an Internet pharmacy website is safe and legal.
