The New Investigator Award will accept letters of intent on Friday, July 1. Early-career faculty with no previous extramural funding support are encouraged to apply.
IPEC has updated the IPE Core Competencies PDF , which were originally distributed in 2011. Increasing emphasis on population health is the primary change to the framework. Additional interprofessional education materials are available on the resources page.
Details for the joint district meetings of The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy and AACP is now available. Meetings begin with District 5, Aug. 4–6, in Lincoln, Neb., and District 3, Aug. 14–17, in Pointe Clear, Ala.
Applications for the Lawrence C. Weaver Transformative Community Service Award are due Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 11:59 p.m. PT. The award recognizes institutions that serve as examples of social responsiveness on the part of the academic health professions community.
Objectives, program format and team composition for the Interprofessional Education Collaborative’s next faculty development institute, Interprofessional Education: Building a Framework for Collaboration., Oct. 5–7, in Herndon, Va., are now available. Faculty teams are invited to come together for a guided learning experience, team-based planning activities, and dedicated time to create actionable plans for implementing projects that advance interprofessional curricula, clinical training and population health experiences, and student assessment.
At the 2016 Fall Institute, Sept. 26–28, at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel in Charlotte, N.C., teams of 3–5 individuals will discuss holistic review in pharmacy admissions and assessment of admissions practices. Attendees will gain insight from other health professions with well-established holistic review practices, as well as insight from accreditors on assessment of admissions practices.
