Get Ready for 2013 Script Your Future

The Script Your Future Medication Adherence TEAM Challenge will be held in February. With pharmacy schools taking the lead, interprofessional teams will engage their community constituents in a dialogue about the importance of taking their medications effectively and establishing a medication adherence plan. Continuing Education Credits Expire Soon

Annual Meeting attendees have until Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 5:00 p.m. EDT to receive continuing education (CE) credits by going to the Learning Management System. The LMS will allow you to complete your evaluations, print your statements of credit and maintain a transcript of the continuing education you completed during the meeting. If you have questions regarding your CE, including access code inquiries, please contact Danielle Fife at the VCU School of Pharmacy at 804-828-3003.

AACP is accepting applications for APPE students who wish to complete a rotation and learn more about association work. A new blog allows current APPE students to post reflections about their experiences at AACP. For rotations occurring in fall 2013 and spring 2014, AACP will accept applications until Nov. 1. AACP Welcomes New Director of Education

Karna McDonald Mapes, Pharm.D., joined AACP on Sept. 10 as Director of Education. Karna comes to us from Touro University California College of Pharmacy. Following completion of her Doctorate of Pharmacy at UCSF, she joined the faculty at Touro as assistant professor of pharmacy practice. She subsequently accepted an appointment as coordinator of experiential programs, her most recent position. Karna is currently a student in the Master’s of Education program with Touro’s College of Education and Health Sciences. She can be reached at kmapes@aacp.org or at 703-739-2330 ext. 1031.

AACP Helps Launch NSAID Group

AACP has joined the Western Pain Society and other advocacy and healthcare leaders to launch the Alliance for Rational Use of NSAIDs. The Alliance is committed to supporting safe and appropriate use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). For more information, visit the Alliance Web site. Contact Lynette R.
