Don't Forget: Submit Annual Meeting Continuing Education Credits
Administration of CE from the 2017 Annual Meeting is handled through the online CE management program, Learning Express CE (LECE). Attendees will have four weeks from the last day of the meeting (Wednesday, July 19) to complete evaluations for continuing education credit. Access to session activity evaluations in LECE will be denied after Wednesday, August 16, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Upon successful completion of the evaluation, LECE will transmit the CE credit information to the regulatory bodies at NABP and ACPE. CE credit information will be reflected in CPE Monitor™. If you have questions regarding CE from the AACP Annual Meeting, please contact Dorothy Novilus, CPD Manager.

Call for ACPE Board of Directors Candidates

AACP is seeking candidates for service on the ACPE Board of Directors. The appointee will observe both the January and June 2018 meetings of ACPE and will begin the six-year term in July 2024. Candidates should submit a single PDF of the requested materials PDF  to AACP no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

New Data Released: Explore Graduating Students and Faculty Survey Data

National summary reports for the 2017 Graduating Student Survey and 2017 Faculty Survey are now available. These surveys are part of AACP’s portfolio of curriculum quality surveys, used by colleges and schools of pharmacy as a curriculum assessment tool, and to provide data during self-study and accreditation review.

The curriculum quality surveys were revised in 2015 by the AACP Institutional Research and Assessment Committee (IRAC), AACP staff, and ACPE to accommodate the new ACPE Standards 2016. The 2017 results represent the second administration of the revised surveys.

How Does Your Institution Serve the Community?

Applications for the Lawrence C. Weaver Transformative Community Service Award are due Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 11:59 p.m. PT. The award recognizes institutions that serve as examples of social responsiveness on the part of the academic health professions community.

Spaces are still available to attend the upcoming AACP Nonprescription Medicines Academy (NMA) Conference: Self-Care on the Horizon PDF , February 23–25, 2018, in Long Beach, California, in conjunction with the AACP INterim Meeting. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Aug. 15. Learn more.


If you’ve submitted a letter of intent, applications for the New Investigator Award are due by 5:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 31. The NIA provides start-up funding for research programs led by new pharmacy faculty.

The AACP Board of Directors is seeking candidates to serve on the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education Board of Directors. A subcommittee of the AACP Board of Directors will make their recommendation to the full AACP Board at the November 2017 meeting. The Center for Compounding Practice and Research at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy is holding USP <800> Compliant Handling of Hazardous Drugs on Thursday, Aug. 24 from at 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This CE opportunity will give insight into developing and implementing best practices when compounding sterile and nonsterile hazardous drugs, understanding facility design, and more.



The Executive Fellowship in Innovation Health Leadership is seeking applications for its 2017–18 cohort. EFIHL is an interprofessional program offered by Arizona State University in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the American Association for Physician Leadership.



The National Association of Medical Minority Educators Inc. will host its national conference in Long Beach, Calif., Sept. 20–24. The conference will include a range of sessions relevant to health professions admissions and education, a diversity student development component including a recruitment fair and networking.
