Innovations in Teaching Competition Letters of Intent Due

Members have the opportunity to submit proposals for 10-minute microsessions at the 2018 INterim Meeting, Feb. 24–27, in Long Beach, Calif. Microsessions, which include a brief presentation followed by Q&A, are an innovative way for meeting attendees to engage on different strategies and tactics that address important issues. Presenters will provide a brief, 5–7 minute overview of their programs related to a specific topic, followed by a 3–5 minute Q&A. Topics for the microsessions include building the applicant pipeline and building a brand for the profession of pharmacy. Submissions are due Thursday, Nov. 9, at 11:59 p.m. PT.
AACP is now accepting applications for the 2018 Innovations in Teaching Competition. A two-page letter of intent is due Thursday, Oct. 26. Applicants will receive feedback from reviewers prior to completing the entire portfolio, due Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018.
The American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education has begun to publish articles ahead of print, to make new research available sooner. Posted in the publication ahead-of-print (PAP) section, these articles have undergone peer-review, been accepted by the Journal’s editor and are citable with their unique DOIs.
The latest issue of the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education, featuring “Meet the President Steve Scott,” “Improving Pharmacy Student Communication Outcomes” and “The Flipped Classroom” and more is now available.
Learn to face educational challenges through Educational Scholarship at the 2017 Fall Institute, Strengthening Educational Scholarship, Nov. 13–15 at the Hyatt Regency Dulles in Herndon, Va. Faculty will be guided through the foundations of education research and engaged in activities that highlight strategies for generating useful evidence, implementing relevant changes and incentivizing faculty engagement in Educational Scholarship and SOTL.
