APhA Career Pathway Evaluation Program for Pharmacy Professionals - The purpose of the APhA Career Pathway Evaluation Program is to provide student pharmacists with a process and the resources for making informed career decisions.
AACP and the Career Information Clearinghouse (CIC), a collaboration of national pharmacy organizations committed to promoting the pharmacy profession and the pharmaceutical sciences, are pleased to announce the winners of a new competition for pharmacy schools. The CIC selected not one, but two winners - The University of Oklahoma and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy created its video to increase the visibility of the profession of pharmacy and provide a great recruitment tool for students. It features faculty, students and alumni of UNC who represent the breadth of the profession through varied backgrounds and perspectives. The video showcases the 360 degrees of educational and professional opportunities available in pharmacy.
The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy students produced directed and filmed their video in its entirety. They even produced original background music for the video in efforts to appeal to both high school and pre-pharmacy students. The video consists of testimonials from current pharmacy faculty and professionals and shows a true collaborative effort.
The Is Pharmacy for You? Video Competition gives pharmacy faculty and students the opportunity to produce a video answering the question, “Is pharmacy for you?” The winners’ videos are posted on the AACP Web site, the CIC member organization Web sites, the PharmCAS Web site and on YouTube, and are used to attract interested students to the profession of pharmacy. Please contact Jennifer L. Athay, director of student affairs, if you have any questions.
