Safe and reliable access to contraceptives products and services is an on-going public health focus. This session aims to provide an overview on the current role of pharmacy in delivering contraception services and advocacy efforts to improve public access. Methods to incorporate these efforts and prepare the next generation of pharmacy professionals will also be discussed.
Objectives:
- Identify current legislation and practice governing pharmacy provision of contraceptives to the public
- Describe advocacy efforts and future directions for enhancing public access to contraceptive products and services
- Discuss curricular integration methods for improving public access to contraceptives
