Philip M. Hritcko

School of Pharmacy 
University of Connecticut

Philip M. Hritcko, Pharm.D., received his B.S. and Pharm.D. degrees from Albany College of Pharmacy of Union University in Albany, N.Y. He is currently associate dean for admission & student affairs and associate clinical professor at the UConn School of Pharmacy. Prior to this current position Dr. Hritcko was the Assistant Dean for Experiential Education at UConn where he is both regionally and nationally recognized for his work in the area of experiential education.

Dr. Hritcko was a clinical pharmacy specialist in ambulatory care at the Veterans Affairs Connecticut (VACT) Healthcare System and is currently a Certified Anticoagulation Care Provider (CACP). Dr. Hritcko also has extensive experience prior to VACT as a community pharmacist practicing throughout upstate New York and Connecticut.

Dr. Hritcko is an active member of AACP, where he was elected to several leadership positions including speaker of the House of Delegates from 2013–15 and chair of the Experiential Education Section from 2008–09. He is a graduate of the 2008–09 AACP Academic Leadership Fellows Program (ALFP). Dr. Hritcko has served on the AACP Board of Directors and on numerous AACP committees including the AACP Bylaws and Policy Development, Executive and Professional Affairs Committees. Dr. Hritcko has also been an active member of the Connecticut Pharmacists Association (CPA), where he has served as a board member and as a past president for CPA 2013–14.





Russell B. Melchert

School of Pharmacy

Russell B. Melchert, Ph.D. is the dean of the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) School of Pharmacy. Dr. Melchert completed a B.S. in pharmacy and Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy, and then joined the Division of Pharmacology & Toxicology The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy as an NIEHS post-doctoral trainee. Dr. Melchert received his first faculty appointment in 1995 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy and served as Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences from 2004–2010. Dr. Melchert joined UMKC as dean and professor of pharmacology & toxicology in 2010.

Dr. Melchert has served AACP in many roles including numerous task forces in the Council of Deans, the Academic Affairs Committee, and the CAPE Advisory Panel. He currently serves as the elected representative to the COD Administrative Board. Dr. Melchert was a member of the second cohort (2005–2006) of the AACP Academic Leadership Fellows Program and served as a dean facilitator in 2015-2016. Dr. Melchert is also a member of the APhA, ASHP, ACA, AAPS, and is an ex officio member of the Missouri Pharmacy Association Board of Directors. Dr. Melchert remains active teaching in the pharmacy curriculum and has been the recipient of over 20 awards from students for his instructional efforts in pharmacology. He has published over 45 scholarly works in pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmacy education, and his research work has been funded by the Department of Defense and National Institutes of Health.

Henry J. Mann

College of Pharmacy 
The Ohio State University

Henry J. Mann, Pharm.D., is dean of The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. He received his B.S. Pharmacy and Pharm.D. from the University of Kentucky where he also completed an ASHP Residency. Previously, Dr. Mann was associate dean for professional and external relations and for clinical affairs at the University of Minnesota and dean at the University of Toronto. Dr. Mann also served as the founding director of the Center for Excellence in Critical Care at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Mann has been a life-long member of AACP and served numerous times as a faculty or administrative delegate. He served the Pharmacy Practice Section as liaison, secretary and program committee member. He was a liaison of the Professional Experience Program SIG and for Graduate Studies and Research. He served on the NABP-AACP District V grants selection committee multiple times. He served the Council of Faculties on the Nominations Committee and he served on the Robert K. Chalmers Distinguished Pharmacy Educator Award Committee and the Paul R. Dawson Biotechnology Award Committee. While dean at the University of Toronto, Dr. Mann served the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada as chair of the Council of Deans, as vice-president of the Association, and as a member of the Board of Directors in addition to being a member of the Council of Deans.

Dr. Mann has also served in multiple capacities for ASHP, ACCP, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He is an elected fellow in each of those organizations.





Cindy D. Stowe

College of Pharmacy 
Sullivan University

Cindy D. Stowe, Pharm.D., has been dean of Sullivan University College of Pharmacy since 2014. Much effort has been invested to solidify structural elements of the college; make significant investment in people–students and staff and faculty members; enhance the visibility of the college; and create a culture of inclusion, support, and programmatic pride.

Dr. Stowe began her pharmacy career at the University of Kentucky where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degree, and completed a General Clinical Pharmacy Residency and a Pediatric Pharmacy Specialty Residency. She completed a pediatric pharmacotherapy research fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. Dr. Stowe’s career in academia started at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy where she maintained a clinical practice site at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and advanced through the academic ranks to hold the rank of professor with tenure. She served as a member of the UAMS COP’s leadership team as associate dean from 2005 to 2014. Her expertise lies within the area of programmatic, curricular, and student learning assessment using authentic assessment methods such as the objective structured clinical examination methodology.

Dr. Stowe has been an active member of AACP since 1996. She was instrumental in the creation of the Assessment SIG. She has served on various task forces and committees and was a member of the ALFP inaugural cohort. Most notably was her service on the CAPE 2013 revision panel.

Wendy C. Cox

Eshelman School of Pharmacy 
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Wendy C. Cox, Pharm.D., is associate dean for professional education and a clinical associate professor in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Dr. Cox received her Pharm.D. from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and completed a pharmacy practice and a primary care specialty residency before accepting her first appointment as an Area Health Education Center faculty member (2000–2005). In 2005, she joined the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy as the director of student services and served as the assistant dean for professional education from 2010–2015 and the associate dean for curricular and student affairs from 2016–2017. In 2017, she was named associate dean for professional education, a role in which she oversees the Office of Curricular and Student Affairs; the operational aspects of the PharmD curriculum, including experiential programs; the Office of Continuing Education; and accreditation efforts.

Dr. Cox has been an active member of AACP since 2005, serving as a member of the House of Delegates (2007–2008), Institutional Research and Assessment Committee (2007–2008), Scholarship/Research Development Task Force (2008–2009), Academic Affairs Committee (2009–2011), Leadership SIG Membership and Professional Development Committee (2012–2014), Pharmacy College Admissions Test Advisory Committee (2014–2016), Administrative Services Section Strategic Planning Committee (2014–015), Pharmacist Recruitment and Admissions Task Force (2015–2016), Student Services SIG (chair-elect 2013–2014, chair 2014–2015, immediate past chair 2015–2016, nominating committee 2016–2017), and Council of Deans (2010–present). Dr. Cox is also a member of the AACP Academic Leadership Fellows Program cohort six.





Neil J. MacKinnon

James L Winkle College of Pharmacy 
University of Cincinnati

Neil J. MacKinnon, Ph.D., is dean and professor of the James L Winkle College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati. He was recently reappointed to a second five-year term as dean. Prior to his current position, Dr. MacKinnon served as director of the Center for Rural Health at the University of Arizona, which houses the State Office of Rural Health for that state. He was also section chair of Public Health Policy and Management at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona.

Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, Dr. MacKinnon has a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from Dalhousie University, a Master of Science degree in hospital pharmacy and an administrative residency from the University of Wisconsin, a Ph.D. in pharmacy health care administration and a fellowship from the University of Florida, and a fellowship in international health policy from the Commonwealth Fund in New York City. A pharmacist, Dr. MacKinnon has practiced in both the community and hospital settings. Dr. MacKinnon is passionate about excellence in higher education in pharmacy and advocacy for our profession. He has an active social media presence, especially as @RxDeanMac on Twitter and Instagram. He brings an international perspective and has the experience of serving in state government and being a pharmacist in a college of public health in Arizona. He is a strong supporter of AACP and has served in a variety of leadership roles in U.S. and Canadian pharmacy organizations, including as a past president of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists. He would welcome the opportunity to serve in this role with AACP.
