Sharing Successful Strategies and Engaging Audiences
Packing information and insight into 10-minute segments, microsessions are an innovative way for meeting attendees to engage on different strategies and tactics that address important issues.
This shorter format provides an opportunity for participants to hear multiple approaches and success stories. Presenters will provide a brief, 5-7 minute overview of their programs related to a specific topic, followed by a 3 minute Q&A. Presenters may use PowerPoint – but no more than 5 slides, emphasizing visuals rather than text. Meeting attendees can choose to hear all the presentations on a particular topic or visit a different room to participate in discussions about the other topics.
We are seeking proposals for microsessions for the INvolve 2019 meeting in Tampa, Florida. The topics for this meeting are:
- Regional Campuses: Speakers share methods for enhancing leadership at distant/remote campuses. Topics about engaging students and colleagues who are not in the same building or time zone, impacting culture, community and challenging opportunities for change are open for discussion during this session.
- Student Leadership: Speakers elucidate their work in the area of student leadership. Topics include ways to incorporate opportunities for student leadership in curricula, providing mentoring opportunities, or fostering leadership skills among students.
- Preparing students for corporate culture: Speakers describe the ways they prepare students for the reality of pharmacy practice in the current landscape. Presentations may include development of 21st century skills to help students navigate in corporate environments, such as communication skills, team building skills, technology or entrepreneurship.
Proposals should be submitted in the form of a 250 word abstract. Abstracts should include title, objective, methods, results, discussion and conclusion.
Submissions will be accepted from September 10, 2018 until November 12, 2018 (midnight Eastern Time).
