Creating a Culture of Change for Digital Accessibility

This webinar will highlight upcoming challenges faced by pharmacy educators across the country as we collectively try to improve our teaching methods and meet federal regulations and global standards for web accessibility. We will briefly review current accessibility requirements under section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). This presentation will also provide attendees with methods to better design digital course material to improve accessibility. 

Objectives:

  • Explain ways that alternative formats can supplement teaching
  • Discuss common obstacles encountered by faculty related to digital accessibility
  • Identify at least 5 methods to increase the digital accessibility of course material
  • Create more accessible digital materials for learners
