Leadership Development SIG’s Virtual Symposium: A Guide to Creating Your Own Virtual Program

In the spring of 2018, the Leadership Development SIG Programming Committee embarked on a new endeavor to meet the needs of their members, launching the first ever Virtual Symposium. Kerry Fierke, Chair of the Leadership Development SIG along with Gregory Zumach will provide details on the virtual symposium framework (including construction, production and execution). They will also discuss how the idea emerged and the necessity of transitioning to a new format to address members’ needs.   Further information will be provided on utilizing AACP Connect to continue to develop SIG member community. Kerry Fierke and Gregory Zumach will also address lessons learned throughout the process and provide a sneak preview of the second annual 2019 Virtual Symposium!  

Objectives:

  1. Define the Virtual Symposium purpose and execution tactics. 
  2. Identify ways a virtual symposium will benefit members in various AACP SIG and/or Section 
  3. Utilize AACP member resources such as AACP Connect. 
  4. Describe challenges and opportunities and how to overcome them.
