Pharmacists in whitecoats.

Hosted by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy

AACP's Policy on Honors, Awards and Leadership Positions states that AACP retains the right to defer or decline to grant honors or volunteer or elected positions, or to revoke or suspend those already granted, if AACP determines that it is in the best interests of the field to do so. In this interactive virtual meeting, the rationale, underlying ethical considerations and implementation procedures related to the policy will be reviewed, particularly in the context of harassing and discriminatory behavior by awardees. Next steps in the implementation of this policy will be outlined, including related revisions to the AACP bylaws that will be considered at the upcoming House of Delegates meeting in July.

The meeting will consist of brief presentations on the policy and procedures followed by breakout sessions with facilitators. In the breakout sessions, participants will discuss implementation of the policy, have opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback about proposed procedures and share perspectives on important considerations when applying the policy.

Objectives

  1. The webinar will introduce AACP's Honor on Awards, Honors and Leadership positions, including the background and rationale for the policy and procedures currently under development.
