This panel will discuss how students can be involved in advocacy efforts. Panel members will give examples where students have actively been involved in advocacy through courses and co-curricular activities and developed their leadership skills. They will highlight the successful outcomes students can have in advocacy. Participants will leave the program with ideas on how they can formulate a plan to strengthen advocacy within their pharmacy programs.
Objectives:
- Outline ways that advocacy can be included in the curriculum.
- Discuss ways co-curricular activities can promote advocacy.
- Explain how advocacy can be included in leadership development.
- Formulate a plan to strengthen advocacy skill development in your college or school’s curricular, co-curricular, and leadership development activities.
