This webinar will focus on the need to shift from a focus of professionalism to that of professional identity formation (PIF) within pharmacy education. During a time of practice transformation, the professional identity of a pharmacist is particularly critical. The session will describe the role of pharmacy educators (i.e. faculty and preceptors) in assisting the PIF of future pharmacists.transformation.
This webinar is designed for all pharmacists and pharmacy educators.
At the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe the shift from professionalism to professional identity formation (PIF).
- Discuss the role of professional identity during a time of practice transformation.
- Identify three ways pharmacy educators (faculty and preceptors) can support PIF.

AACP is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Finding the Path Forward: Aiding Practice Transformation Through A Focus on Professional Identity Formation (PIF) In Pharmacy Education Webinar (UAN: 0581-0000-20-017-L04-P and 0581-0000-20-017-H04-P) is designed as a knowledge-based CPE activity and is approved for 1 hour of continuing pharmacy education credit (0.1 CEU). To obtain CPE credit for the live webinar, pharmacists must attend the webinar on May 19, 2020, register, complete and submit the CE session evaluation for the webinar by accessing the online AACP Continuing Education Administration software program, Learning Express CE. The deadline to complete the evaluation to obtain CPE credit for the live webinar is June 19, 2020.
Pharmacists who wish to complete the webinar as a home study CE, must register, view the webinar in its entirety, complete a post-assessment and evaluation via Learning Express CE before the CE expiration date of May 19, 2023. A passing score of 80% or higher on the post-assessment is required to obtain CPE credit.
Instructions for Claiming CPE Credit for the Live Webinar:
Please go to Learning Express CE at: https://aacp.learningexpressce.com/. Click the "Finding the Path Forward: Aiding Practice Transformation Through A Focus on Professional Identity Formation (PIF) In Pharmacy Education" link under the Live CPD Activity tab and click “Register Now”. Log in to your Learning Express CE account if you are a registered user. If you are a new user, please create your account utilizing your AACP email and password. (Be sure to include your correct NABP e-Profile ID and birthdate in MM/DD format in your Learning Express CE profile. Verify that your NABP e-Profile ID and birthdate are correctly entered into your Learning Express CE profile and correspond with your NABP record. Failure to ensure this information is identical in both programs will jeopardize your earning CE credits.) Confirm your selection and click “Register”. When you are ready, complete and submit the evaluation. Upon successful completion of the evaluation, LECE will transmit the CPE credit information to the regulatory bodies at NABP and ACPE. Pharmacists should log in to their NABP e-profile to access information about their completed CPE and to print a valid statement of credit if needed. Access to the evaluation in Learning Express CE will be denied after June 19, 2020.
Instructions for Claiming CPE Credit for Recorded Webinar:
Please go to the Learning Express CE (LECE) site and click the “Distance” tab. Select the " Finding the Path Forward: Aiding Practice Transformation Through A Focus on Professional Identity Formation (PIF) In Pharmacy Education" link and click the “Purchase Now” button. Login to LECE if you are a registered user or create your account if you are a new user. Verify that your NABP e-Profile ID and birthdate are correctly entered in your LECE profile and correspond with your NABP record. Confirm your selection and enter the promotional code in the “Coupon” box. (AACP members should go to AACP Connect to obtain the promotional code). Click the “Register” button to apply the code. If you are a non-member, please enter your payment details and click the Register button. After you have successfully registered for the program, you will be able to view the recorded webinar. In order to obtain CPE credit, you must view the webinar in its entirety, complete the post-assessment and evaluation. Note, you will be able to retake the assessment if you do not achieve a score of 80% or higher. Pharmacists must complete all the required components by May 19, 2023, in order to obtain credit. CPE credit information will be transmitted to NABP and ACPE. Pharmacists should log in to their NABP e-profile to access information about their completed CPE and to print a valid statement of credit if needed.
The webinar series is being conducted through the GoToWebinar platform. Access to GoToWebinar is necessary to participate in the live version of the Webinar. Additionally, participants will need a working internet connection, (a web browser such as Firefox or Chrome is required for the live version, Internet Explorer V11 is acceptable for the recorded version) speakers/headphones for audio capability, and Adobe Reader to open select pdf files. This series comes at no charge to AACP Members (Live or Recorded). Non-Members will be charged a nominal fee of $10 for access to the recorded webinar(s) and its associated continuing education (CE) credit(s).
