Hosted by the Administrative Services Section
This inaugural session in AACP’s career transitions series invites pharmacy faculty at all career stages to explore the evolving landscape of retirement and preferment planning. Going beyond financial preparedness, the webinar will introduce ten key areas of consideration—including timelines, procurement processes, and succession planning—essential for navigating critical career transitions. Participants will gain access to a comprehensive planning framework and hear from two AACP members at different points in their preferment journey. The session aims to foster a thoughtful dialogue around personal and institutional readiness across the pharmacist career life-cycle.
Objectives:
- Describe the importance of retirement planning at different career stages.
- Identify a comprehensive list of activities that must be included in an individualized plan.
- Propose a list of tools and resources to support retirement and transition planning.
- Discuss how leaders (e.g. Department Chairs) can support department-level succession planning.
