Instructions for Claiming CPE Credit for Recorded Webinar:

Please go to the Learning Express CE (LECE) site and click the “Distance” tab.  Select the "Pharmacists' Prescribing for Tobacco Cessation Medications" link and click the “Purchase Now” button. Login to LECE if you are a registered user or create your account if you are a new user. Verify that your NABP e-Profile ID and birthdate are correctly entered in your LECE profile and correspond with your NABP record. Confirm your selection and enter the promotional code in the “Coupon” box. (AACP members should go to AACP Connect to obtain the promotional code). Click the “Register” button to apply the code. If you are a non-member, please enter your payment details and click the Register button. After you have successfully registered for the program, you will be able to view the recorded webinar. In order to obtain CPE credit, you must view the webinar in its entirety, complete the post-assessment and evaluation. Note, you will be able to retake the assessment if you do not achieve a score of 80% or higher. Pharmacists must complete all the required components by 11/16/2024 in order to obtain credit. CPE credit information will be transmitted to NABP and ACPE. Pharmacists should login to their NABP e-profile to access information about their completed CPE and to print a valid statement of credit if needed.

This live, 1 hour CE Webinar will provide pharmacists with the knowledge to assist their patients in quitting and prescribing tobacco cessation medications. The tobacco cessation medications will be compared, including safety and efficacy data. In addition, recommendations on developing a treatment regimen including doses, routes, and the frequency of administration will be reviewed.

Target Audience:

Practitioners assisting patients with quitting tobacco.

At the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • State the pros and cons of the various medications for the management of tobacco cessation.
  • Describe dosing for combination nicotine replacement therapy agents.
  • Describe the safety and efficacy of the seven FDA-approved tobacco cessation medications.

Pharmacists who wish to complete the webinar as a home study CE, must register, view the webinar in its entirety, complete a post-assessment and evaluation via Learning Express CE before the CE expiration date of 11/16/2024.  A passing score of 80% or higher on the post-assessment is required to obtain CPE credit.

Hardware/Software Requirements:

The webinar series is being conducted through the GoToWebinar platform. Access to GoToWebinar is necessary to participate in the live version of the Webinar. Additionally, participants will need a working internet connection, (a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome is recommended) speakers/headphones for audio capability, and Adobe Reader to open select pdf files.

This series comes at no charge to AACP Members (live or recorded). Non-Members will be charged a nominal fee of $10 for access to the recorded webinar(s) and its associated continuing education (CE) credit(s).
