Teaching public health is an important component of pharmacy education, with public health content found in multiple standards, courses, and curricular outcomes. Recognizing public health topics and material under the new COEPA guidelines and ACPE Standards 2025 will be crucial to preparing pharmacists who are able to meet the public health challenges of today and tomorrow. This webinar will examine COEPA through the lens of public health education in pharmacy and provide resources and practical tips for teaching public health to student pharmacists.

Objectives:

  • Define public health and its importance in the context of pharmacy education, including the distinction between public health and population health.
  • Identify COEPA Educational Outcomes most relevant to teaching public health in pharmacy education.
  • Describe resources available to help educators teaching didactic public health content based on COEPA.
