Arlington, Va. — The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Transformation Center and the Academia-Community Transformation (ACT) Pharmacy Collaborative announce the launch of the Community Pharmacy Student Scholars (CPSS) Program Cohort 2. This initiative is designed to empower student pharmacists to drive innovation and transformation in community-based pharmacy practice.
Joining AACP as key partners are CPESN® USA, Champion Sponsor, and Walgreens, Leading Sponsor. Their contribution demonstrates their ongoing commitment to advancing the role of community-based pharmacies in the national health care landscape.
"We are grateful to CPESN® USA and Walgreens for their generous support and shared vision of advancing the essential role community pharmacies play in delivering accessible, high-quality care," said Lee Vermeulen, B.S.Pharm., M.S., FCCP, FFIP, AACP Executive Vice President and CEO.
The CPSS Program provides up to 20 student-faculty-practitioner triads from AACP member institutions the opportunity to participate in a hybrid longitudinal program that aims to strengthen the skills of student pharmacists’ and commitment to a career in community pharmacy practice. The program consists of virtual sessions, asynchronous learning and activities, and will culminate at the 2026 AACP Annual Meeting with in-person programing, workshop training, networking and graduation.
The application deadline for pharmacy students is Tuesday, Aug. 26. For more information about the program and to apply, visit the CPSS page.
