Advising Students on Pediatric Careers from Pre-Pharmacy through APPE Year

This webinar will explore various strategies for introducing pharmacy students to careers in pediatric pharmacy, recognizing that institutions differ in their available faculty, coursework, and resources in this area. Each speaker will share a unique perspective and approach based on the specific opportunities and limitations at their institution.

Objectives:

  • Describe diverse advising strategies used across different colleges of pharmacy to assist students at all levels of their academic career who are interested in pursuing pediatric pharmacy career paths
  • Identify key opportunities and touchpoints within the pharmacy education continuum to engage students with pediatric pharmacy, including pre-pharmacy, co-curricular activities, didactic content, and experiential learning.
  • Recognize potential barriers students may face when pursuing pediatric pharmacy career paths and explore practical ways to support diverse learners in overcoming these challenges.
