Advancing Community Pharmacy Institute: Unifying Academia and Practice for Impact
AACP invites you to join us on October 29- 31, 2025 for an impactful virtual institute held in honor of American Pharmacists Month, a time not just to celebrate but to elevate the voice and value of pharmacy in today’s changing healthcare landscape. This institute is your space to reconnect with purpose, reimagine possibilities and rise to the moment together. With engaging sessions, small group discussions, and real-time collaboration. We’ll spotlight how community pharmacy is evolving, how patient care continues to expand, and how advocacy can drive meaningful change.
Global Learning Objectives
- Identify the current perception of community pharmacy across all audiences, including pharmacy academia, pharmacy learners, pharmacy practice, and the public.
- Describe approaches for faculty, learners, practice partners, and professional organizations to support advocacy efforts to advance community pharmacy.
- Create a collaboration roadmap for advancing community pharmacy scope of practice and payment opportunities among colleges, schools, community pharmacies, state associations, Boards of Pharmacy, and other partners.
- Formulate strategies to articulate community pharmacy practice opportunities and experiences within and outside of the pharmacy profession.
- Develop a plan to foster a supportive environment to advance community pharmacy education and practice at your institution.

Challenge
To harness the momentum of the 2.5-day Institute, the Unite for Impact: A National Collaborative Challenge will be launched on October 31st, the last day of the Institute. This challenge aims to foster unprecedented collaboration between pharmacy academia and essential partners across the profession and health care spectrum to drive measurable community pharmacy advancement through advocacy, practice transformation, and/or public engagement. Time will be allotted throughout the course of the Institute to begin planning for the challenge. More details to follow.
Who Should Attend?
AACP encourages any faculty member, administrator, student, or staff person at an institution with a pharmacy college or school. To make the most of this program, we encourage colleges/school-based teams to invite community-based partners to join them as part of their institutional team, including representatives from community pharmacy practice, other pharmacy practice settings, state associations, board of pharmacies, health plans, or other collaborators. Regardless of attendance at an Institute in the past, we encourage you to attend this event. There will be a special student rate, and we encourage teams to include the perspectives of students!
