Gender Equity: Voices from the Academy
CPE Activity Announcement
Wednesday, February 16, 2022
3:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. ET
Universal Activity Number (UAN):
Presented by the Social and Administrative Sciences Section.
Despite diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at higher education institutions across the United States, research has demonstrated that men and women continue to face different barriers to advancement in academic pharmacy. Additionally, anecdotal evidence suggests that gender gaps persist in academia. The goal of this program is to describe findings from a survey of and semi-structured interviews with members of the American Pharmacist Association’s Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science Economic, Social and Administrative Science and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s Social and Administrative Sciences section.
This webinar is designed for all pharmacy educators and administrators.
At the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe the creation and goals of the Joint Gender Equity Task Force of the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science - Economic, Social and Administrative Sciences (APhA-APRS ESAS) and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy - Social and Administrative Sciences (AACP-SAS) Sections.
- Discuss the Task Force’s findings from a national survey and interviews with Section members.
- Identify ways to support gender equity at their institutions and professional associations.
