Introduction to digital health, artificial intelligence (AI), and the importance to pharmacy education
This session will be a series of presentations that will start the program with an introduction to digital health, artificial intelligence, and their role in pharmacy. There will be a short presentation on the importance of AI and the relevance to pharmacy education, followed by a session covering basics of AI, and finally a presentation on prompt generation for generative AI searches with some time to apply information using some of the common generative AI tools available for free.

What competencies do pharmacy graduates need to practice in an AI world (Part 1)?
This session will be a panel discussion about competencies for AI use that pharmacy students will need to be ready for their future practice. The panelists will discuss proposed competencies for health professions students that have been featured in medical education. It will also include additional pharmacy specific considerations and needs to reskill the current pharmacy workforce.

This session will include an interactive AI competency discussion with audience engagement to inform future directions for the Academy around AI competencies to consider in pharmacy education. Followed by 30-minute discussion on integration of AI and digital health with ACPE Standards/COEPA, the PPCP Framework, and use of an integrated approach to embed this into your curriculum.

This will be your chance to see a brief demonstration of AI and then ask questions to find out how all of this is being utilized in "real world" education and practice. Breakout rooms will be set-up so you can interact with multiple vendors in this engaging format.
