Workshop Objectives
- Develop best practices for supportive experiential education (EE) learning environments while addressing student challenges.
- Identify strategies to support preceptors, build collaborative partnerships, improve site capacity, and optimize rotation quality.
- Design policies, procedures, and systems that enhance EE office efficiency, effectiveness, and impact.
- Build collaborative peer networks and mentoring relationships among EE professionals for ongoing growth.
Brief Description
This Institute is designed to support the full spectrum of professionals who make experiential education work—especially EE staff, faculty, administrators, and leaders who oversee or collaborate closely with experiential programs. Together, we will explore practical strategies across the three core dimensions of EE—students, preceptors, and EE offices. We’ll examine ways to better support learners in EE environments, strengthen site and preceptor quality and support systems, and enhance the policies, processes, and structures that sustain high-quality experiential programs.
Each dimension will feature a mix of presentations, idea sharing, and collaborative discussions—along with dedicated team time for you and your colleagues to develop tangible, actionable plans you can implement at your institution. Throughout the institute, you’ll get ideas and design solutions that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and overall program impact while expanding your professional network and strengthening a community of practice that continues well beyond the event.
Highlights Include
- Gain practical strategies to strengthen students, preceptors, and EE office systems.
- Collaborate with peers from across the country to share challenges and solutions.
- Participate in interactive sessions, team planning, and hands-on activities to create actionable plans for your institution.
