Meeting attendees gathered in a spacious sunlit hall.

Hosted by the Pediatric Pharmacy SIG

Proposed to be included as part of the ACPE 2025 Standards, COEPA is anticipated to formally replace both the CAPE outcomes and Entrustable Professional Activities. Hosted by the Pediatric SIG, this webinar will discuss ideas and opportunities to introduce the new COEPA into pediatric assessment opportunities. Participants will receive a historical introduction of COEPA and its creation, as well as potential implementation strategies in didactic, practical, and experiential settings. Faculty panelists will provide real-life examples and experiences to support discussion of these strategies.

Objectives:

  • Outline the transition of the CAPE Educational Objectives (EOs) domains and subdomains and the 2016 Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) to the new 2022 COEPA.
List the specific test question tagging changes needed to accommodate COEPA using a crosswalk.
Discuss and evaluate opportunities to incorporate COEPA into pediatric assessments in didactic, practical, and experiential settings.
