A Mindfulness Practice Elective for Reducing Stress & Promoting Quality of Life

Mindfulness is the practice of bringing awareness to the present moment with a sense of curiosity and compassion, and without judgement. In this session, participants will learn of the successful implementation of a mindfulness elective for pharmacy students and its impact on student stress and mental health-related quality of life. Participants will discuss curriculum development, evaluation of the mindfulness elective, and explore methods to implement mindfulness practice in their own institutions.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the impact of mindfulness practice in pharmacy students.
  2. Implement mindfulness practice concepts into existing pharmacy school curricula.
