Student Engagement…the Secret Sauce for Academic Fulfillment

Hosted by the Council of Faculties

The session will assist participants with strategies to connect with students of various generations throughout one's academic career leading to a more fulfilling and rewarding experience as an educator. Barriers and opportunities for engagement both in and outside the classroom, and in the experiential setting will all be explored, and noteworthy practices will be shared. Participants will share personal experiences with presenters via chat, develop a plan of action for additional student engagement strategies, and discover how faculty-student engagement can benefit the student, the faculty member, and the institution.

Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participants will be able to describe barriers and opportunities for student engagement in multiple academic settings.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to describe several noteworthy practices that promote student engagement.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to develop a plan to enhance their student engagement efforts throughout their academic career.
