Medical Billing 201 Workshop: Teaching Pharmacist Medical Billing, Contracting, and Credentialing
AACP invites you to a dynamic, hands-on virtual workshop on Jan. 22, 2026 10am-4:30pm ET that explores how pharmacy practice continues to grow beyond dispensing. Educators play a key role in helping future pharmacists and practicing pharmacists understand not only how to care for patients but also how to navigate the business side of pharmacy practice.
This one-day interactive workshop is designed specifically for pharmacy educators and focuses on practical strategies for teaching important topics in medical billing including how pharmacists can provide services and get paid for their work, as well as the basics of contracting and credentialing in outpatient care settings. Participants will gain useful tools to help learners understand the connection between scope of practice, standards and regulations, and payment for services. The workshop will also walk through the credentialing process, exploring its benefits, challenges, and why it is essential for pharmacists to be able to receive payment for their services. In addition, attendees will discuss contracting principles and the different collaborators involved in supporting successful pharmacy practice.
