Editorial board members serve the Journal in various roles, including reviewing manuscripts, advising the Editorial Team in strategic planning, recommending topics of interest, serving on AJPE task forces and more.

Dr. Kennedy currently serves as professor of pharmacology and chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Administrative Sciences at the Western New England University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Dr. Smith is a clinical associate professor at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the AU/UGA Medical Partnership.

Both bring research experience to the Journal. Dr. Kennedy maintains an active research laboratory exploring the role of thiol isomerases in cancer and hemostasis, and Dr. Smith is a founding member and chair of the University of Georgia Critical Care Collaborative (UGAC3), which is committed to fostering critical care research and education across the state of Georgia. In addition, she manages a robust research program focused on advancing critical care education in the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum and optimizing critical care pharmacy practice models.

Dr. Kennedy previously served AACP as chair of the Bylaws, Policy and Development Committee and Biological Sciences Section, the Faculty Affairs Committee and the Department Chair Committee for the Council of Faculties. Dr. Smith was chair of the AACP Women Faculty SIG and Pharmacy Practice Section Mentorship Committee.

Editorial board members serve a three-year term with the option to renew their tenure by one additional three-year term. Editorial board members are selected based on their AJPE peer-review and manuscript submission records, overall experience and credentials, and other interactions with the Journal.
