Hosted by Pediatric Pharmacy SIG

Despite children comprising approximately 22% of the population in the United States, there is limited focus on development of skill sets focused on pediatric patients in many pharmacy school curricula. The goal of this webinar is to provide practical suggestions as to how pediatric patients can be addressed in existing curricula, including pharmacy calculations, patient education, and medication administration.

Objectives:

  1. Identify competencies in pharmacy curricula that benefit from inclusion of pediatric patients.
  2. Generate ideas for possible expansion of existing skills labs or activities to include pediatric patients.
  3. Develop a plan to incorporate pediatric patients into skills assessments for student pharmacists.
