Within the context of geriatrics, students become practice ready to treat this complicated, vulnerable population and effectively work within interprofessional teams. This webinar session will explore ideas on how to develop and implement successful interprofessional education opportunities for students that emphasize geriatric topics and/or include geriatric patients. Attendees can participate in the session through interactive web-based brainstorming application and sharing ideas collectively online. Material from this webinar will contribute to a toolkit that will be distributed via AACP Connect post-webinar.

Objectives:

  1. Describe successful geriatric interprofessional education experiences
  2. Discuss barriers and potential solutions when implementing interprofessional learning in the context of geriatric topics
  3. Identify health professional programs where partnerships could be created for interprofessional education experiences
  4. Develop one geriatric interprofessional activity that could be implemented at your healthcare professional school
