This webinar will discuss specifications grading in a laboratory course, assessment of APPE readiness skills and remediation techniques for benchmark assessments. Specifications grading involves creating a set of specs that define what pass/satisfactory looks like. Longitudinal APPE readiness skills assessment using progressive formative and summative assessments will be discussed. Finally, we will discuss the development of remediation plans in skills-based courses. 

Objectives:

  1. Define specifications grading
  2. Outline the benefits of specifications grading in a pharmacy skills lab course
  3. Describe the formative and summative assessment process for identified APPE Readiness Skills across two didactic years
  4. Describe the remediation process utilized in a skills based lab course to address student deficiencies
