Using Microcredentials and the Pharmacist eCare Plan to Highlight Hearing Self-Care Education and OTC Recommendation Documentation

Hosted by the Self-Care Therapeutics/Nonprescription Medicine SIG

Tired of covering the same-old topics and technologies in your self-care or community pharmacy focused course? This webinar will review two technologies that can be used in the classroom, micro-credentialing and the Pharmacist eCare Plans. Presenters will discuss how these technologies can be incorporated into the self-care classroom as a way to introduce teaching about OTC hearing aids and eCare planning in the community setting.

Objectives

  1. Demonstrate how microcredentials can be used to teach unique subject domains like OTC hearing aids.
  2. Demonstrate two platforms that can be used to teach Pharmacist eCare Plans to document OTC encounters in a community setting.
  3. Examine the principles of andragogy met by microcredentials and online learning.
  4. Summarize students’ pre- and post-activity knowledge of Pharmacist eCare Plans and their performance documenting Pharmacist eCare Plans.
