Hosted by the Pharmacogenomics SIG

Pharmacy educators must keep up with emerging evidence in the pharmacogenomics literature and clinical practice guidelines. This webinar will present an overview of the 2022 Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC) guidelines, including the updated CYP2C19-clopidogrel guideline and expanded G6PD guideline, with a practical demonstration on how these updates can be taught using cases from our AACP Pharmacogenomics SIG case repository.

Objectives

  1. Describe the updated Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC) guideline for CYP2C19-clopidogrel and its implications on antiplatelet prescribing.
  2. Discuss the expanded CPIC guideline for medication use in the context of G6PD genotype.
  3. Describe the selection of cases from the AACP Pharmacogenomics SIG case repository.
  4. Illustrate the use of pharmacogenomics result reports in connection with patient cases.
