PharmON

Pharmacy Opportunities Network

The Pharmacy Opportunities Network (PharmON) was established collaboratively by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (AFPE) and the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) in 2022 to provide a diverse array of corporations, associations and other entities one national career center to promote internships, fellowships and other experiential learning opportunities to current Pharm.D. students, residents, fellows, and graduate students, as well as practicing pharmacists that might be interested in exploring new career paths. The co-sponsors share the commitment to enable current and future pharmacists to explore the myriad career pathways that exist today and will emerge in the future.

Providers

Opportunity providers will pay $199 per posting for their available positions. This covers the costs of the PharmON vendor. Net revenues from the Network will allow AFPE to expand the number of awards in support of research by Pharm.D. and graduate students as well as pharmacy faculty.

Providers are required to create a "Company Profile" to post to PharmON. This profile is verified in a timely manner by either AACP, AFPE, or APhA staff. This is to ensure that opportunity seekers are being provided quality, legitimate opportunities.

Seekers

Opportunity seekers will be able to search through postings nationwide, apply seamlessly to positions, and upload their resumes for easy access to providers.

The PharmON login information is separate from the AACP, AFPE, and APhA Web site login information.

Dear Colleagues - April 2022

As I muse over the nearly 50 years since I dedicated my professional energy to pharmacy, I am at once struck by the magnitude of the change that has occurred across those years and the pace. The magnitude is indisputably enormous, yet the pace has not been what I and many others have sought. Some examples: Shortly before I entered the Auburn pharmacy program as a pre-pharmacy freshman, Act 205 of the Alabama Pharmacy Practice statute said that a pharmacist was not to put the name of the product on the prescription label.

Spotlighting Community Pharmacies

The 50 Stories from 50 States Challenge, an initiative from the ACT Pharmacy Collaborative, amplifies the vital patient care services that community pharmacies are providing nationwide. The COVID-19 pandemic magnified the value of pharmacists, especially those in community pharmacies who are highly accessible to the public.

National Pharmacist Workforce Studies

National Pharmacist Workforce Studies

The National Pharmacist Workforce Study (NPWS) provides an update on the pharmacist workforce and examines changes from previous studies. NPWS reports are sponsored by the Pharmacy Workforce Center (formerly the Pharmacy Manpower Project, Inc.).
